One of the upsides of being in Florida is the relaxing atmosphere you get. The warm climate feels good to the skin, especially if you’re from one of the colder states (just don’t forget sunblock!). The beaches are stunning, and to me, nothing matches the feeling of the waves washing up at your feet.
I especially enjoy the fairs and festivals that happen every once in a while here, too. The last time I checked, there were 650 events scheduled for this year alone. Just look hard enough and you’ll most likely find an event happening on any given date. Browse for a bit online and browse through websites that keep a listing for dates. You’ll definitely save a bit of time by just doing that.
There are plenty of things to do, once you’re there. But for me, walking around and just taking in the local scenery and the various items people sell is a relaxing activity in itself. A lot of artists like to set up stalls and booths here to sell what they’ve made. You’ll see a lot of jewelry, hand-carved trinkets, and the like. Some even have bags they designed themselves. A girl could spend a lot of time just looking at things here and of course, shopping. Just mind your wallet.
Food is something for the adventurous type, as fairs sell a wide variety of foods. You will most likely find standard fare such as burgers, fries and cotton candy, but there are some you probably would not have seen or heard of before. Exotic foods that are the pride of people who sell them, as well as some strange varieties (chicken feet?). If you want to challenge or delight your taste buds, have a look around these fairs.
So get up and go! Have a look around Florida Fairs and Festivals, and check the date of the next upcoming fair!
