It is surprising just how many people still think that fish are just a resource to be used merely to survive or an easy meal but there is something else that is not widely known. The manufacturing industry processes more than 2,000,000,000 pounds of fish and fish by-products every year. It seems odd, but, this is slightly more than what we use for food.

In addition, surveys show that with every dollar spent in a fishing license sixteen additional dollars are spent for equipment, such as fishing tackle, food, clothing, and transportation. You might be amazed to find out that there is more money spent on fishing than any other hobby.

So why do so many people consider this a great hobby? It is a way of providing a way to free the mind of stresses and daily worries. It also helps in mentoring troubled teens, by ridding them of negative thoughts and activity with more positive traits and pursuits. Fishing is no doubt a wonderful sport.

Utilization of different types of gear has definitely added things that no other feature could ever do. Today thousands of children and teens are ready and willing to learn how to cast a line. These young people are interested in fish and fishing and they want to fish in a lawful and fun way.
